From June 16th – 17th 2018, A SHIP IN THE WOODS will present its inaugural music and art festival within the 50-acre oak grove of Felicita County Park in Escondido, California, situated in North County San Diego. 

The mission of the festival will be a continuation of the nonprofit's past programming as an arts and culture incubator merging world class talent with local San Diego artists.  

With grant support from the City of San Diego and County of San Diego along with select sponsors, visitors will experience a lineup of diverse, notable, contemporary, independent, and emerging performers representing a wide range of genres, including indie-rock, folk, post-punk, post-rock, shoegaze, dreampop, Afrofuturist hip-hop, ambient, experimental, and electronic music.  There will be immersive outdoor contemporary art installations with a focus on social practice, ecology, and experimentation.  Food trucks and vendors supporting conscious forward products and practices will be on hand. Participating bands, artists, members, and VIP ticket holders will have full access to various amenities, a secluded space to relax, private DJ area, VIP bathroom, complimentary food and drink tickets, front-line access at the entrance, food and drink area and more. WSOHOIDPS (A SHIP IN THE WOODS) est. 2010 in North County San Diego, is a nonprofit incubator working to engage the community through elevated dialogues in art, science, music, and new media. Through diverse curated events, our residency program, and interdisciplinary collaborations, WSOHOIDPS has become a thriving community of innovative thinkers and supporters interested in exploring our ever-evolving world view.  Past events have attracted 300 – 700 visitors partaking in interactive art exhibitions and performances.

MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART SAN DIEGO — With two locations, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) is the region’s foremost forum devoted to the exploration and presentation of the art of our time, presenting works across all media created since 1950. 

SAN DIEGUITO RIVER VALLEY CONSERVANCY  — The San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit conservancy dedicated to sustainable management of the natural resources of the San Dieguito Watershed, with priority given to the protection of the San Dieguito River corridor.

ART REACH  — ArtReach believes that all youngsters, regardless of socioeconomic status, benefit from the opportunity to practice creative thinking and creative doing. We strive to increase access to visual arts education by connecting students at K-8 schools throughout San Diego County with practicing artists. We focus on providing free workshops to students at schools that meet need criteria and have no or scant visual arts education resources. We also provide fee-based workshops to schools or organizations that have the ability to pay. 

SAN DIEGO FOOD BANK — The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank and our North County Food Bank chapter comprise the largest hunger-relief organization in San Diego County. Last year, the Food Bank distributed 26 million pounds of food, and the Food Bank serves, on average, 370,000 people per month in San Diego County.

HESTIA — At Hestia, we believe home spaces buoy our best creative selves. Our hosts are established arts & thought leaders. They offer their homeshares to residents as supportive, nurturing spaces for artistic risk-taking. Hestia provides promotion for Host listings; Hosts become part of a nationwide arts collective.

DINING OUT SD— Launched in 1998, the DiningOut family of magazines has long sought to bring the best of culinary scenes across the country to a hungry public. This means a unique brand and product—offering in-depth, thoughtful editorial on engaging culinary lifestyle topics, coupled with market-specific restaurant guides which highlight the finest restaurants in each of our nine market cities across the U.S.

ESCONDIDO TOURISM— Escondido may mean “hidden” but it’s no secret that there’s a lot going on here! Located just 30 miles northeast of downtown San Diego and 20 minutes from the coast, Escondido is home to major attractions, beautiful wineries, craft breweries, unique arts and theatre, delicious culinary experiences and a charming historic downtown. Enjoy our beautiful climate with year-round golfing, hiking, biking, fishing, and fantastic events!

DUBLAB dublab is a non-profit, radio station dedicated to the growth of music, arts and culture.  Broadcasting from Los Angeles since 1999, with a mission to share freeform radio transmissions with an international audience.  dublab’s programming has expanded to include production of art exhibits, films, events and record releases as well as affiliate stations in Germany (dublab.de), Japan (dublab.jp), and Spain (dublab.es).




In the fall of 2010, a group of artists and creative professionals sought out residency in a mid-century home in the hills of Del Mar, CA with the notion of creating a community driven hub for art and culture.  

Today the SHIP has sailed to its new permanent home on a 2 acre wooded lot adjacent to Felicita County Park in Escondido, CA. SHIP 2.0 continues to function as an incubator for art, music, artist residency, lectures, communal dinners, satellite events and various gatherings in pursuit of elevated discourse throughout Southern California.
